ESO has a comprehensive Site Safety handbook that is issued to all of its contractors as part of the induction process. * Ensure that Plant Risk Assessments are carried out by equipment suppliers during the design, manufacture and installation stages in accordance with the Code of Practice for Plant and Equipment. * Ensure all contractors comply with applicable Work Permits including hot work, elevation height and confined space. * Assist in the preparation of Safe Work Method Statements (SWMSs). * Ensure all Contractors are appropriately inducted before starting work. As part of day-to-day functions we will: * Supervise all trades and communicate with site management. Health and Safety Throughout all stages of a project ESO addresses health and safety, but specifically during the installation and commissioning stages. Our own internal cost management systems allow us to monitor these costs easily and this is key to a successful project. When potential over-spends are highlighted early it gives us the opportunity (in conjunction with our client) to make key decisions to control or closely monitor the cost area in question. As part of this process we are continually forecasting ahead so that any potential over-spends when compared to budget are highlighted early. At ESO, it is mandatory for all project managers to complete a monthly cost report for all projects. One of our key areas of focus in terms of project management is to closely monitor the project costs throughout the project lifecycle. Cost Control. Our head office in Melbourne accommodates our in-house designers and administration functions and the offices in Bendigo and Sydney are fitted out with the appropriate technology to facilitate streamlined services to our clients. Risk assessments, quality swabs and production coverage were essential parts of this process and although some activities are not executed by our team, we are fully aware of what is required to restart the plant to the required standard. There was an elevated focus on communication with operational and engineering staff ensuring that all functional managers were aware of what, when and how plant and equipment was to be removed and installed and ensuring food safety, quality and plant functionality was maintained. This project incorporated removing process and production lines from a functional site to a new Greenfields site that progressively became operational. ESO are regularly engaged in relocation and installation type projects and have recently successfully completed a large project for Goodman Fielder Home Ingredients in Sydney. Whereas in a relocation project we focus heavily on tagging equipment and pipework for ease of reinstallation, then monitor mechanical and electrical labour by engaging experienced site engineers and supervisors to execute our designs in a timely manner. For example, in a design & construct project we focus on the design to ensure our client can maximise efficiencies and capitalise on increases in capacities, then scope key equipment items to have the required rate and flexibility at a cost effective price.
