We have created the Fleming ton Food Forest primarily as a living playground for local children and their families to explore their spontaneous world and gain basic knowledge about growing fresh, local and well food. It consists of individual plots and communal facilities including a Food Forest with educational signage. Program introduces them to a variety of experiences to encourage participation in a formal learning environment. Flourish speaking, listening and language skills at a weekly conversation class. This is a class for people who need to develop exceptional computer skills usually for work. Work towards achieving 2234VIC Course in Initial General Education for Adults, while learning to cook fresh, well meals to share with the group every week. Classes are designed for people who need urge in learning how to plan, prepare, cook (and neat up!) Ger Altunbas has had a vision to create an image as a memorial that represents her lived experience of family violence and private violence. Farnham Street is currently looking for volunteers who would be available to offer one on one promote to some of our English language students. The Helping Hand Project is a Melbourne based mentoring program that helps young refugees prevail in life and to succeed their dreams. The center organizes many social activities for our members to offer them opportunities to socialize with other people. All people of Chinese background are welcome. Some of the plots are there for communal use such as the community herb garden and local schools and other organizations make use of them, the rest are allocated to individuals who wish to tend their own plot. Preference will be given to gardeners who do not have their own private garden. The responsibility for managing the FSNLC Community Garden rests with the FSNLC garden coordinator. FSNLC is strongly committed to providing mature education, and presents a number of courses designed to assist people seeking access to education. We have been providing education and social urge programs to the community for over 30 years. Join a class, an activity or encourage group. We seek to ensure that those who have missed out are given the opportunity to experience knowledge, language and learning as adult learners. Their urge with facilities and resources allows us to donate a wider range of courses and activities to our students, and we are also capable to yield more opportunities to residents in the community. Adult Literacy is a class for native and nonnative speakers of English who need additional help to build their reading and writing skills. Some of the plots are there for growing produce for use in Life Skills Cooking classes at FSNLC. As segment of this group, more experienced gardeners share their knowledge and skills with each other and less experienced gardeners in caring for their own garden plots and communal areas. The garden is largely impaired for growing edible plants using organic and sustainable gardening methods.
