Established in 1975 in Sydney by John and Elizabeth Hunt, the business carries on a family tradition in leather goods, which goes back to 1852 when John Hunt's great-grandfather established a boot and shoe factory in Balmain, making boots that the diggers wore to the gold fields. John Hunt passed away in 2005, leaving the business in the hands of Elizabeth, and daughter Sophie, who joined the steady in 1995. The Hunts tranquil travel overseas twice a year to source beautiful, well made and unusual leather goods, luggage and handbags. We've grown into a wholesale firm as well, with a burgeoning corporate gifts department. And the family tradition continues, with Sam Hunt joining the business in 2011. Our Hunt small leather goods and accessories are made for us in southern Spain, in a distant hill town famous for leather craftsmanship. Everything is made to order for us, to our design and specification, in carefully chosen leathers. With brass fittings and appropriate quality zippers, every bag is fully lined and made to last. Every segment in the Hunt collection is made to order, and exclusive to Hunt. Every chic editor worth her salt arrived at the shows carrying a handsome dark boxy leather tote in the crook of her arm. I began to look at things in a fresh way and sourcing other items which I found beautiful, laughter or functional.'
