Queer Unionists in Tertiary Education (cute) is a network of National Tertiary Education Union (NT EU) members and staff who are actively engaged in addressing the issues facing workers of different sexual orientation, gender identity and expression and sex characteristics in the higher education industry and within the NT EU. Encourage education against prejudice, discrimination and harassment in the workplace on the grounds of sexual orientation, gender identity and expression and sex characteristics. Lobby governments to put in place comprehensive anti discrimination legislation and equal treatment policies regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity and expression and sex characteristics. Ensure that our union observes anti discrimination and equal opportunity policies. Ensure that perspectives on higher education as they relate to people of different sexual orientation, gender identity and expression and sex characteristics are explicitly addressed through enterprise bargaining and other industrial forums.This includes, but is not limited to, intellectual freedom, parental leave, bullying, harassment and discrimination. For over twenty years, higher education workers have come together as the NT EU to protect staff conditions.
