Peckvonhartel has successfully completed major urban developments in both Australia and internationally. Due to the ongoing operation of the facility during the development, construction work was completed in stages. Assisting the client and project manager and consultant team to grasp the challenges and requirements of a successful BIA project delivery, peckvonhartel led the team to realism the benefits of collaborative BIA project delivery. The two new levels will produce a new residential floor with 26 individual rooms and a landscaped roof garden level which will confine planting and a walking circuit to donate all residents a cherished outdoor area. The concept has been designed to 'cross over' between the two sites. Whilst the sites are separate entities, and the development on each site is unique, the potential exists to flourish both sites simultaneously, or, if required, development could proceed on each site independently. Implementation of the strategy will improve emergency services coverage in the ACT as the city expands and the population grows. The new collocated Ambulance and Fire Rescue station in Charnwood is the beginning station designed and built in the ACT since the 1990s. collocating both services on one site fosters operational synergies and has provided a robust, purpose built facility for the ACT Ambulance Service and ACT Fire Rescue to cohesively respond to and manage emergency incidents, as healthy as delivering greater value for the Territory’s budget. The design concept for the collocated station was developed succeeding extensive user, union and Government stakeholder engagement and community consultation, importantly this ensured that the new facility would operate functionally and efficiently for both services. The fresh station includes shared facilities such as a fitness room and the emergency vehicle wash bay while each service retains separate operational and administrative areas. This new facility will serve as the benchmark for future facilities in the ACT, and probably across the rest of Australia. Peckvonhartel provided stuffed design services from the initial concept design stage, including the preparation of massing studies to help in the site selection process and the compilation of a comprehensive architectural functional design brief and room data sheets. This ethical and client’ focused approach was welcomed by the BSA and helped mitigate project risks. This was integral to the delivery of a bespoke and operational triumphant station which has been enthusiastically received by the firefighters and paramedics who labor there. Peckvonhartel also provided interior design services for the fresh station, as well as peer review of construction documentation during the building phase. Peckvonhartel are commissioned by Airservices Australia (AA) to yield a master plan and site examine of the Melbourne center, and to design and document a building for the Technology and Asset Services (OAS) Business Unit, one of the key business units within the Melbourne center.
