Forest and Wood Products Australia Limited (FWPA), a notforprofit company, is the forestry and wood industry’s service provider, investing in research and development, and providing research results to the forest and wood products' industry in Australia. FWPA aims to improve the competitiveness and sustainability of the Australian forest and wood products' industry through innovation, and investment in effective and relevant RD. At minimum two of the Board’s non executive Directors must also be Self-reliant Directors (not holding positions within any FWPA member companies). He holds a Bachelor of Science (Forestry) and a Master of Business istration. Mr McNamara is CEO of Park side Group Milling and has more than 30 years’ experience in the forest and forest products industry. He brings strengths in strategic leadership, culture change, stakeholder engagement, operations and research to the board of FWPA. Brian’s experience covers native forest management as well as plantation forestry. Brian has further supplemented his technical forestry skills with other aspects including policy, people and broader financial responsibilities. As Research and Development Manager, Dr Lafferty is responsible for implementing FWPA’s policy of supporting RD projects across the complete forest and wood products value chain. He has more than 20 years experience in the public and private sector, including an Industry Training Advisory Body (ital) for building and construction, a business council and the Wool Corporation. An experienced National Marketing and Communications Manager responsible for managing FWPA's marketing and event programs including the WoodSolutions brand for specifiers of design and construct and the Wood. Eileen has over 25 years of related business experience in communications, marketing and event management before to joining FWPA and was the founder and CEO of a thriving company. Her event experience has seen her manage many of Australia's major events. Boris has had more than 24 years of direct involvement in the Australian forest and wood products' sector and holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Structural) degree and a Graduate Diploma in Building Fire Safety and Risk Engineering. He is actively involved in the drafting of technical guides, informing designers, specifiers and regulators in relation to timber engineering and bush fire pliable solutions, and is a member of Standards Australia’s Timber Standards Coordination Group. He holds a Bachelor of Economics and a Graduate Diploma in Business istration and has worked in various roles within the forest and wood products' industry, including as CEO of Alpine MD and as a director of Vic forests. She assists the business manager with the business and financial functions of the organization. Her role is to provide marketing, communications and event coordination urge to the Marketing Manager. Her ability to adapt to changing environments resulted in her being placed in busy marketing roles which allowed her to profit specific experience in corporate marketing, marketing communications, email marketing, and event and project management. These groups have been established to provide advice and assistance to FWPA's Programs to ensure FWPA delivers on the needs of industry.

Forest growing is a long term venture that is exposed to environmental risks (e.g. In addition to wood products, commercial forest crops can yield a expansive range of environmental and societal values that may not be currently captured or valued by the forest owner or the community. This includes carbon storage, recreation, water catchment and biodiversity values. FWPA is occupied with the Australian Bureau of Statistics to undertake a pilot investigation into the Green Triangle forestry region to determine the value of these environmental services through spontaneous capital accounting methodologies. There is also an opportunity to look at alternative funding mechanisms for these environmental values using mechanisms such as social impact bonds. A scoping scrutinize will be commissioned to explore the fresh mechanisms for funding sustainable forest management.
