We aim to get you better and keep you that way. Osteopathy diagnoses and treats musculoskeletal pain and dysfunction in the muscles, spine and joints. An osteopath undertakes 5 years of science based university training in order to be qualified in osteopathic medicine. We offer a lovely light filled pilates studio for individual and small group pilates therapy. We have 4 osteopaths working out of inner city osteopathy & pilates, offering both male and female practitioners, including shannon who specialises in pediatrics and cranial osteopathy and anthony who is also a rehabilitation/ clinical pilates instructor and an nis practitioner. As such an osteopath will always treat the cause of the problem- not just the symptoms. The philosophy behind osteopathy, which is one of the oldest forms of 'hands on' physical therapy, is the body is a unit and structure and function of the body are inter- related. An osteopath commonly treats neck and back pain, manages disc injuries, rib dysfunctions, joint and muscle strains, and offers relief from headaches and migraines. Osteopaths are also government registered, can be claimed under medicare (with a gp referral) or private health rebates (extras) and can bulk bill spinal x- rays.
