Subsequent that concert, and prior making its first recording, the choir members voted a change of name to the Faye DuPont Singers. The beginning recording was a carol record O Arrive All Ye Faithful and a second followed The Birds. This choir continued as the only DDS Inc. choir until its tenth year, when Faye prompted a name change of that ensemble to the Melbourne Chamber Choir at the time the organization was also forming the Melbourne Women’s Choir. The Melbourne Master singers existed as a little male choir for a while, but is the name taken also when a male ensemble has been invited for example when the men of the Melbourne Chamber Choir appeared in monks robes and sang Gregorian Chant for the launch of a champagne. Has continued an annual concert series since its hasty days. It has also been instrumental in gathering others to share concert platforms for many years providing Sing Christmas (including one in the Tennis center, with the Melbourne Symphony) nine Voices of Women festivals for women’s choirs from throughout the country and in 2017 has presented its 17th ChoralMontsalvat festival. The organization has a DDS Charitable Donations Fund into which donors can place tax deductible gifts toward the activities of the choirs and has set up the Paul Barclay Scholarship in honor of a member of the Melbourne Chamber Choir. In every year it has provided Melbourne with a colorful and vibrant concert series, and this year is offering three delightful and contrasting events for your recreation Collaborations, choir and string quartet, a Voices of Women festival, and, for Christmas, its lovely annual Carols in the Chapel at Abbotsford Convent. Brahms’ Requiem is a hymn to life, occupied with exquisitely pretty melodies. Regarded as Brahms’ supreme masterpiece, this is sublime and uplifting music. Our focus is on the glories of Venice, that rich city with the redoubtable St Mark’s and its tradition of choral music with brass. End year’s win in St Paul’s Cathedral prompted the Bach Society to invite the choir to plumb the depths of the Christmas message anew, with even more potential for the audience to unite in some of the chorales. The singers will be in choir outfit unless costumes are negotiated. The conductors can assist with repertoire that is available and will work for choral singing. This scholarship, in honor of a preceding singer of the Melbourne Chamber Choir, is to aid with the vocal development of the scholarship holder, who will sing in the Melbourne Chamber Choir for the duration of the scholarship. It is plausible to give to the fund through the Faye DuPont Singers Charitable Donations Trust, thus gaining tax deductibility as healthy as supporting a singer’s education.
