What you should know about The Pancake Parlour Restaurants

Restaurant in Melbourne, Machinery in Melbourne, Specialty Food in Melbourne, Machine in Melbourne

With almost a dozen restaurants throughout melbourne, the pancake parlour restaurant in forest hill adds a little fun to the stereotypical dining experience. Surrounding the guests is a vast collection of ridiculous looking victorian machinery, adding a sense of humour and quirkiness to the experience. Serving various flavours and styles of the humble pancake, the pancake parlour caters for all sorts of tastes and favourites. A great place with great food, the pancake parlour restaurant is the ideal place to take the family for a unique dining experience.

Founded in 1965, The Pancake parlor has a history as exciting as that of Melbourne itself. Every dish at The Pancake parlor is made from the best and freshest ingredients. Learn the revealing facts behind our choicest ingredients, from the Buckwheat in pancakes to our organic Maple Syrup and FreeRange Eggs. Over the years, television advertising has been a key strategy in letting you know what is happening at The Pancake parlor. Relive the great advertisements of the former and even a scanty that maybe should stay hidden! The quirky collages of vintage illustrations create stories around the characters and the particular delights of The Pancake parlor world.

Don Czarnecki replaced the comb in the lady’s hand with a fork and underneath emblazoned the simple word LOVELY! Lady logo was born and seen on such unlikely places as the helmets of the US Soldiers in Vietnam, the snowmobiles of the Australian contingent in Antarctica and the giant warm air balloons of Roger Mead more in the skies over Europe during the world championships. It would be a home away from home that reflected the character of the city and its people and, most of all, was an Australian restaurant with a very distinct and culinary style. Curious people peered into what was now a building site, jeering: Pancakes? Good luck with that! The plan was to simply serve pancakes for lunch and dinner, with both sweet and savory toppings. Fortunately, the customers came, and right from the start people seemed to appreciate this was something unique. The crowds grew and familiar faces kept returning including the first ever customer, Bill pickling. The swell of patrons turned into chaos, with customers washing dishes, waiting on tables and just. Waiting! In 1969, Allen and Helen made the move across to Victoria to introduce this totally fresh approach to eating out. Restaurants were now licensed and America had landed on the moon. To rejoice the opening of both restaurants, a parade was held through the city center with Swanson Street and Burke Street totally blocked off (before the city council thought of doing it permanently!). It was an extremely hot day and the 200 invited guests sweltered in the heat of the Market Lane restaurant where the air conditioning was not working. It was a blessing in disguise it hadn’t worked the day before! In 1986, we formed an alliance with Hosts Cinema Corporation as they pioneered large cinema complexes within shopping centers. While Granny painstakingly delivered the maple syrup from the USA, it was further refined to our standards by the Maple Syrup Refining Plant. The Granny Plane pedaled purposefully every day and night for more than a decade until Forest Hill Chase closed in 2010. (Just don’t let artist Peter Don hear you say that!). Piece of taking The Pancake parlor into the tomorrow was the expansion of the Wine List and the introduction of the maximum delicious cocktails. Lounge area. Nothing stands still at The Pancake parlor, but the one thing that never changes is our merciless devotion to the pancakes on which we have made our name over the past four decades. The fresh look is being progressively applied to other locations, making The Pancake parlor unique and cutting edge in its look and ambiance. More than 670 people are segment of The Pancake parlor and Simon’s concern is to ensure it is a happy and fertile environment, where staff have as much fun as the customers.
