The AC operates a large public optometry clinic and currently employs over 45 fulltime and part-time optometry staff. A range of clinical activities are available including specialty clinics, clinical teaching and involvement in metropolitan and regional outreach clinics. His overarching interest in optometric education has led him to deliver continuing education to practicing optometrists and other health professionals. He was appointed Director of the Clinic in 1991 and was also a senior fellow and coordinator of the clinical school for the Department of Optometry and Vision Sciences in the University of Melbourne. Mitchell's many contributions to optometry and public health, particularly the eye health of Indigenous people, were recognized in the 2013 Australia Day honors when he became a Member of the Order of Australia. Melissa has worked in a wide range of independent and corporate optometry businesses including in regional locations. Melissa is also passionate about developing quality graduate optometrists and was a Clinical Instructor for University of Melbourne for considerable years. He has been a member of a number of committees and busy groups both regionally and nationally for the A. Behind 10 years’ experience in private legal practice, he served over 15 years in Queensland Parliament including ministerial responsibilities in health service delivery and policy. He lectures to undergraduate, postgraduate, and into international programs at The University of Queensland. Clare is a competent Chartered Accountant who has a expansive range of experience, having worked in both private practice and the public sector over the final 20 years. In this role, she headed up a team of over 50 staff and was responsible for leading the delivery of Finance, Human Resources, ACT, Procurement and Member Encourage activities across all Council Departments. The AC has a large staff of professional and extremely qualified personnel, made up of optometrists from graduate to senior levels, as healthy as non optometrists in urge and management roles. Clare has had expansive experience of audit and accounting, financial management, consultancy, governance, project delivery and management of corporate encourage services. She has held a range of senior management positions across the professional practice, government and notforprofit sectors. The AC provides optometry care in regional Victoria at low cost for persons who grip a pensioner concession card or health concern card. The AC Clinic welcomes referrals from optometrists, ophthalmologists, medical practitioners and others such as teachers, psychologists and occupational therapists. The AC actively supports educating the community and other health professionals in issues involving vision and eye health. The Australian College of Optometry (AC) delivers tall quality, low cost eye protection services to the Victorian community through a network of clinics and practitioners in Melbourne and rural Victor a.
