Travellers Aid has served travellers at the point of need across Australia since 1916, trusts, thanks to the support from the Victorian community, foundations and all levels of Government. A meeting room is available for community use. Travellers Aid at City Village houses the organisation's administration team. We also provide transport information and luggage storage. Main Concourse, Cnr Flinders and Swanston Sts. Our dedicated support staff are able to assist with meals and toileting, Flinders Street Station, advocacy and internet access. Travellers Aid at Flinders Street Station are able to offer a safe community space to wait between trains or to have a rest after a busy period. Travellers Aid At Flinders Street Station: This service is located within the ticketed barrier area of Flinders Street Station and offers a comfortable lounge, and practical assistance to the travelling public, rest area, amenities, through a number of services. Emergency Relief Service Melway Ref: 1A A5. This service operates via appointment, so please telephone prior to coming in. OPEN Monday-Friday 9.30am-4pm. To make an appointment please contact our emergency relief staff. Main Concourse, and distressed, who are vulnerable, who experience transport and social disadvantage, Spencer Street Melway Ref: 1A A5. OPEN 7 days a week 7.00am-11.00pm. Emergency Relief Assistance: Travellers Aid at Southern Cross Station also assists travellers at the point of need, Southern Cross Station, through the provision of travel related emergency relief. Travellers Aid at Southern Cross Station also offers clean and accessible rest rooms (to provide comfortable relief during long journeys), stroller hire, showers (with towel hire), baby change facilities, and information on transport and accommodation in Melbourne. To access Travellers Assistance bookings are essential. It also provides assistance to older, manual wheelchair access, via free buggy transport, and people with disabilities to ensure safe passage through Southern Cross Station, frail, and personal guidance. Our Purpose: To provide vital services and dignified outcomes to travellers in need, especially travellers with special requirements and those in emergency situations. People travel for all sorts of reasons, re-uniting with family and loved ones, meeting long lost friends, to welcome someone who is arriving in Melbourne for the first time, as a meeting point after a sporting match or concert, and Travellers Aid is there to help, or travelling for deeply personal reasons such as medical treatment or a funeral.
